School holidays

  1. Kia ora Militina,

My name is Rachel and I am working with the SLJ team this year. It sounds like you had a good year at school but were really looking forward to the summer. I always look forward to the summer because it means that we get to have another session of blogging. I love reading student's work and posting comments. I particularly love it because I often learn cool, new things that I didn't know before. If you get the chance, we really hope that you will join the Summer Learning Journey programme this year and learn cool new things about New Zealand. We have 60 activities for you to choose from!

To find the activities please check out the Weekly Activities tab on the Summer Learning Journey website (www.summerlearningjourney.co.nz). You will find links to all four weeks' worth of activities on the site.

Hope to see you online over the break!

    Warm regards,
    Rachel

  2. Hi Militina,

It’s Leslie here, writing to you from Canada where it’s very cold and snowy. Hard for you to imagine, I’m sure! I’m a member of the Summer Learning Journey team and I notice that you make a beautiful poster about summer holidays coming. well done!

I think you might really enjoy some of the activities in the Summer
Learning Journey program because they allow you to be creative and to learn lots of interesting things about the unusual animals and plants that live in your beautiful country, as well as in other countries around the world.
    So interesting!

There are still 3 full weeks left to participate in the Summer Learning Journey program called “The World Around Us”. Here’s the website address: www.summerlearningjourney.co.nz I hope you’ll take a look and try some of the activities. I’ll look for your postings and write back to you from Canada.

Meanwhile, have a really happy summer holiday.

    Leslie
